The procedure is necessary where the company wishes to change its name following a rebranding, the reorganisation of its activity, a change in business strategy or where the current name no longer reflects the business activity. The new name takes legal effect only after it has been registered with the Trade Registry (ONRC).

The procedure for changing the company name involves checking the availability of and reserving the new name, preparing the necessary documentation and registering the change with the Trade Registry (ONRC). Depending on the company's situation, this may include drafting the resolution of the general meeting of the associates or the decision of the sole associate, updating the articles of association and preparing the other documents provided for by law.

Before submitting the application file, the availability of the new name must be checked and the name reserved. After the change is registered, it may be necessary to update the contracts, invoices, bank accounts, authorisations and other documents used in the company's activity.

Although changing the company name is an administrative procedure, it produces important legal effects on the identification of the company in its relationships with the authorities, banks, contractual partners and third parties.
