Setting up an authorised natural person (PFA) is one of the most widely used ways of authorising an independent economic activity, being suitable for persons who carry out activities on their own account. The file is filed with the Trade Registry (ONRC), and once the procedure is completed the holder may lawfully carry out the authorised activity.

Depending on the field of activity, proof of professional training or experience may be required, as well as the setting up of secondary establishments or the fulfilment of other conditions provided for by the applicable legislation. Choosing the correct CAEN codes and verifying these requirements are essential for authorising the activity without delay.

Although the procedure is simpler than in the case of a company, incomplete documentation or the choice of inappropriate CAEN codes may lead to a request to supplement the file and to the registration period being extended.
